Holy Spirit Come | What's My Gift?

Paul wrote to the church in Corinth so they could understand some basic stuff like leadership, sex, married life and self-discipline. As part of ‘basic training’, he also taught about spiritual things. How does the Holy Spirit help us sort out the spiritual realities of life? Not surprisingly, Jesus is at the very centre of the conversation. There’s more!

1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Questions:

  1. How aware are you of the spiritual realities of life? Offer details of your spiritual insight or lack of it.
  2. What might have been the cost of declaring “Jesus is Lord” in the Roman world? Is there any cost to making that declaration in our culture? Explain.
  3. Give an example of a ‘pecking order’ that you’ve witnessed. How can the church avoid having a pecking order?
  4. Have you witnessed any of the spiritual gifts described in v8-10? Share that story. As you are able, help members of your group understand the spiritual gifts they have been given.
  5. Pray for our church and the wider Church. Pray that the Holy Spirit would pour out His gifts for the building up of His church and for the good of the world.
