How it works
Baptism is a public declaration that a person has become a Christian. The water represents both death and life. A new believer goes under the water to symbolize that they were dead in their sins, and they come up out of the water to show that they are raised to new life in Jesus.
Christians were instructed by Jesus to baptize new believers “In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit to demonstrate the new community they have joined and that they now forever belong to the Living God.
If you have made a decision to follow Jesus, we encourage you to take the next step of baptism. Join our Baptism & Membership class to learn more and decide if this is right for you at this time.
Interested in being a member at SPL Church? Membership is a meaningful way to commit to this community — to serve, grow, and belong together. Join us for two Baptism & Membership classes to learn more.
The next baptism and membership class dates: Sundays right after the second service - about 11:45 AM, April 12, 19, 26 & May 3.
On April 26, we’ll offer a single 30-minute baptism class for kids 12 and under and their parents and guardians. When you register, you will be emailed an at-home discussion guide to complete before attending the class.
