Unexpectedly pregnant before she was married, Mary’s life was in upheaval. God sent her to Elizabeth, who would encourage her with a blessing.

  1. Tell about a time when you experienced a sudden upheaval in your life. What was that like for you?
  2. Who in your life has been an Elizabeth—someone able to speak life-giving words of encouragement?
  3. Elizabeth was attentive to God. What practices in your life help you stay close to Jesus?
  4. Is there someone in your life who is experiencing some upheaval? What could you do this week to bless them?
  5. Practice blessing one another! Say one thing that you appreciate about each other. Pray for God’s blessing for each other.
