Advent 2025: Go | Joseph Goes With The Plan to Marry
God puts people on the go. It isn’t possible to believe in God and not have a mission, to not have someone to love or some place to go. This week’s story is God’s call to Joseph. Joseph would have hoped to lead an ordinary life, work a job, have a family, and contribute in some small way to the community. God had bigger plans.

Questions:
Matthew 1:18-25
- When you were young, what did you think you’d grow up to be? How did that work out?
- Joseph’s reaction to Mary’s pregnancy was understandable. Has God ever shifted a conviction or attitude or opinion you’ve had and made you gentler or more grace-filled? Tell that story.
- When was the last time you were courageous? Is God asking you to be courageous about something right now? Explain.
- Acknowledging Jesus as King means laying down self-sovereignty. On what issues have you given up your right to call the shots?
- Is there an opportunity for you to enter someone else’s shame with them? Explain the situation to your group and, together, discern whether our Lord is prompting you to ‘go’.

Exodus 14:5-13 -The story of God’s rescue is not without drama! God’s people left Egypt only to come against a new opponent, the Red Sea! They were trapped between an angry Pharaoh and, at least as bad, an angry Sea. They cried out, expressed their terror, and God made a way. Of course, it did involve them moving their
