Roots: How Salvation Works - Why Is Life So Hard?
This Sunday we begin a new teaching series called “Roots” based on the book of Exodus. You can’t fully understand the life, death and resurrection of Jesus without studying Exodus. Chapter 1 lays the foundation of a people in desperate need of rescue.

- Were you ever rescued, or did you ever rescue someone else? Tell that story.
- The Israelites were flourishing and Pharaoh hated it. What forces work against human flourishing in our day?
- Fear (v.10) grows in this story from threat to oppression to slavery to the death of little boys. What has fear looked like in your life?
- Two women (v.17) chose not to obey Pharaoh but fear God instead. What does “Fear of the LORD” mean?
- What stories in Exodus mirror the life and death of Jesus?
