Where's The Hope? | Prayer

Paul continues his message of hope by telling the Colossians what he’s praying for them. He doesn’t pray that they’ll be healthy or wealthy or have an easier go of it. What he wants most for them, and so what he asks God for them, is that they would know God’s will, that they would live a life worthy of Jesus and that they would have God’s strength for staying in the game for the rest of their lives. It makes one think about what we want most for ourselves and for those in our lives.

Colossians 1:9-14

Questions:

  1. If someone asked you, “What is God’s will for my life?” How would you respond?
  2. What area(s) of your life are currently ‘worthy of the Lord’? (Where are you bearing good fruit?) Secondly, where might our Lord be inviting you to make some changes?
  3. What’s your stamina like these days? Do you sense God’s strength for endurance and patience to keep growing and going? What help do you have for those who are lagging?
  4. Paul indicates that when the Holy Spirit is fueling our lives, there’s a presence of joy. What’s your ‘’joy meter” at right now? How can you make more room for greater gratitude in your life?
