Questions:
- What ideas or attitudes in our culture seem to promise freedom but actually hold people hostage?
- Paul warns about "Jesus and" teaching—needing Jesus plus something else to feel spiritually okay. What's a modern version of this you've seen or felt pulled toward (a practice, experience, or belief)?
- What's one religious practice, spiritual experience, or personal standard you've sometimes treated as necessary for feeling "acceptable" to God? What is the antidote to that?
- Paul says that Jesus is enough because of who he is: he is God and he is Lord. How would you explain those truths to a spiritually curious friend?
- Paul reminds us that in Jesus we have a new self and a new life. What does that mean for you personally?
