Colossians 2:8-12

Questions:

  1. What ideas or attitudes in our culture seem to promise freedom but actually hold people hostage?
  2. Paul warns about "Jesus and" teaching—needing Jesus plus something else to feel spiritually okay. What's a modern version of this you've seen or felt pulled toward (a practice, experience, or belief)?
  3. What's one religious practice, spiritual experience, or personal standard you've sometimes treated as necessary for feeling "acceptable" to God? What is the antidote to that?
  4. Paul says that Jesus is enough because of who he is: he is God and he is Lord. How would you explain those truths to a spiritually curious friend?
  5. Paul reminds us that in Jesus we have a new self and a new life. What does that mean for you personally?
