Where's The Hope? | Grow

The way forward for the first Christians had its bumps and tumbles. Not everyone who claimed to be a teacher had their story straight, and some were downright deceptive and wrong. One of the reasons Paul wrote this letter was to speak directly to the false teaching that was being introduced. They say that the best way to learn what a counterfeit bill is to handle a genuine bill over and over. Turns out, Jesus is the genuine article!

  2. Paul’s intent in writing this letter was that the believers would be encouraged in heart, united in love and gain complete understanding through Jesus. How has Jesus actually brought encouragement, love and new understanding into your life?
  3. What would you identify as false teaching(s) that lead Christians astray in 2026?
  4. Are there good roots going deep in your life these days? How are you feeding those roots?
  5. How does a person ‘overflow with thanksgiving’? Is there something you or your group could do to expand thanksgiving in your lives?
