Where's The Hope? | Jesus Is
In his letter to the Colossians, Paul quickly gets down to ‘majoring on the majors’. Not surprisingly, the Major of all majors is Jesus. Instead of talking about Jesus’ powerful miracles or profound teachings, Paul backs the story all the way to the beginning, Creation. Jesus is the One through whom and for whom creation came into being. He holds it together, and he pulls out all the stops to redeem it when it goes off the rails. This is what love looks like.

Questions:
- What picture do you have when you think of God?
- Does it feel like something is missing when someone says “Jesus is God”? Explain.
- If Jesus is the head of the church, how might you respond to a person who says they like Jesus but have no time for the church?
- Christians believe Jesus is the ‘firstborn among the dead’. What does that mean, and how, if at all, does that change your life?
- What is the most supreme thing in your life? Offer evidence that supports your claim.
- Jesus reconciles all things to himself. What is unreconciled in your life these days?
