WHEN YOU HAVE DIRTY FEET
“Washing one another’s feet” ranks right up there with the other crazy ideas Jesus has for his Kingdom: “Go the extra mile.” “Turn the other cheek,” and “Love your enemies.” Inconceivable. Who would ever think that these ideas would gain traction, especially in a group of young men? The only way it makes sense is if these first disciples experienced love like they’d never known before and they were ready to die for it.

John 13:1-17
- What sorts of things qualify for “washing one another’s feet”?
- Recall a time when someone “washed your feet”. What was the impact on you?
- Jesus washed the disciples’ feet, in part, because twelve guys sat on their hands when it was obvious what needed to be done. Can you relate to their stubbornness? Or do you relate to His stubborn love?
- What do you make of Peter’s antics? What in us doesn’t want to be served? What in us needs to be different from everyone else? Would you call this sin?
- Where might you wash someone’s feet this week?
