Prayer Wednesday

“Because the poor are plundered
And the needy groan,
I will now arise,”
Says the LORD.
“I will protect them from
Those who malign them”.

This is why we pray: for the time when our LORD finally says, “ I will now arise .”

I know that prayer is good for our souls. There is a corrective that happens when we slow down long enough to pray. There’s also a deepening of intimacy in our relationship with Jesus that occurs in prayer.

But the big deal about praying is that the Living God actually answers! Our LORD will arise and will make right those things that have gone terribly wrong. “ I will now arise ” is good news for those who are losing hope, those who feel “ no one is faithful anymore ,” those who grieve how “ the wicked strut about when what is vile is honoured by the human race .”

Don’t lose hope! Jesus has already done it once; he’s going to do it again!

I will now arise .” Maranatha!

Praying and longing with you this day.

Andrew
