Church 101 | Shared Leadership, Shared Meals

The church at Corinth gives us a glimpse into how the Kingdom landed and found shape in a rather typical First Century Roman city. 1 Corinthians 11

Message Questions:

  1. Have you ever seen men and women lead well together? What were some of the essential ingredients that helped that happen?
  2. In what ways could our church be both (1) true to the Gospel and (2) sensitive to the culture around us so that our times of worship together are welcoming and not out of touch or offensive?
  3. Is there a possibility that our church discriminates between people on the basis of their economic status (what they earn or where they live)? What could we do to fix that and what needs to happen so that never happens among us?
  4. What is your experience of the Lord’s Supper? Is that something that is nurturing, incomprehensible, or shaming for you?
  5. How might we better celebrate the Lord’s Supper to communicate all the unity, forgiveness, power, and grace that Jesus intends?
