Church 101 | Differences in Opinion
The church at Corinth gives us a glimpse into how the Kingdom landed and found shape in a rather typical First Century Roman city. There was nothing exceptional about the Corinthian church: just believers trying to learn how to walk out of familiar kingdoms of darkness and walk into the Kingdom of Light.

- Why is being right not always the be-all of everything?
- Where might a focus on getting our rights, squeeze out love?
- “Jesus is Lord.” What are the implications for a person’s life when they proclaim that to be true?
- Have you witnessed or experienced a situation where, for the sake of love, someone lets go of being right or getting their rights? What impact did that choice have?
- How will you practice letting go of being right, or of getting your rights?

Look up Acts 15:28-29, the decision of the Jerusalem Council. Why wouldn’t Paul just point the Corinthians to that rule instead of the principles he gives them in 1 Corinthians 8?
