Roots | How Salvation Works - A Heart-to-Heart With God
The book of Exodus unfolds the growing friendship between God and Moses, one conversation at a time. Moses’ honest exchange with God is a picture of how we can talk with God, too.

Questions:
- When people hear the word “prayer,” what images or expectations come to mind? How have you heard people without a faith background talk about prayer?
- In vv 12-13, how is Moses checking in on (and reminding God of) their friendship? Why do you think he starts there?
- Moses asks God, “Now show me your glory.” What does this mean? Why can’t God say “yes” to Moses?
- Jesus brings us face-to-face with God. How easy is it for you to see yourself as a friend of God’s? What do you sense is the next step in having heart-to-heart conversations with God like Moses did?
- Moses's friendship with God was the most important thing in his life. Is there something that has more of your head and heart these days than Jesus? Explain.
