Beginnings: How God Got Things Started, A Chosen People.
The people of God were rescued from slavery—now what? God doesn’t just free us from darkness; He frees us for a new life. In today’s passage, we see the kind of people and nation God wants Israel to be.

- Which of the 10 commandments do you find easiest to obey? Which is the hardest, and why?
- Why would God give people rules that He knows they won’t always keep?
- Look at verse 20. How do "Don't be afraid" and "the fear of God will be with you" work together?
