Believe | Joy

We all know the excitement of having house guests. We fluff the pillows, put on clean sheets, vacuum the hard-to-reach places and dispose of the clutter. We get ready! Advent is us getting ready. It turns out that the One who came that first Christmas, who is coming again, is the House owner. Welcome home!

John 1:1-14

Message Questions:

  1. On a scale of 1-10, how happy are you these days? What is contributing to that?
  2. Read Psalm 16:11 and John 10:9-11. What do these passages tell us about life and joy? Has this been your experience?
  3. In 2 Corinthians 6:10, Paul speaks of being “sorrowful but always rejoicing.” How can sorrow and joy co-exist?
  4. Where do you need to re-think where you expect to find happiness? Where might you be assuming that something you have , something you can do , or someone you could be will bring happiness?
  5. How easy is it for you to trust that God only wants your deepest happiness? Is there an area of your life where you have been living life on your terms instead of God’s?
