The Conspiracy of God | Beatitudes

Our first sermon series of 2022, The Conspiracy of God , will take us through the Sermon on The Mount.

A conspiracy involves a secret power at work behind the scenes, undermining those that currently hold sway. Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount is God’s invitation to participate in his great conspiracy by apprenticing to Jesus.

Matthew 5:1-12

Message Questions:

  1. Describe the most “blessed” life you can imagine.
  2. Review the qualities of the blessed life Jesus speaks of (poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek…). Which ones resonate for you and which ones are curious to you?
  3. Review the rewards of the blessed life (will be comforted, will inherit the earth). How do you imagine these rewards will actually play out? Are these future promises or for here and now?
  4. Have you ever seen one of these “blesseds” play out in real life? Tell that story.
  5. Do you want a life like this or is it time to “get your money back?”
