May all who seek you rejoice
And be glad in you;
May those who long for your
Saving help always say,
“The LORD is great!”
But as for me, I am poor and needy;
Come quickly to me, O God.
You are my help and my deliverer;
LORD, do not delay.
We know all the right answers:
- “God is good all the time; all the time, God is good!”
- “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
- “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
- “May all who seek you rejoice and be glad….”
All right answers and true, yet sometimes things feel different:
- “I am poor and needy.”
That’s also true and honest.
You may be out in front of the marching band these days—it’s all sunshine and blue skies in your part of the world. Or you may be a bit beat up, or even desperate.
The LORD of all heaven and earth is our help and our deliverer. “Call to me in the day of trouble,” He says (Ps. 50). He is never far from the wounded and brokenhearted.
LORD do not delay!
Leaning into His arms with you this day.
Andrew
