Matthew 1:1-16

  1. What names in your family tree would you highlight to help people get to know you better?
  2. Have you ever witnessed someone being excluded from something because of who they were or what they did? What was that like?
  3. What are some things people might assume disqualify them from God’s love? What would you say to someone who says God couldn’t possibly love them?
  4. What things might people think qualify them to be in God’s family? What would you say to someone who says they don’t need Jesus because they’re good enough?
  5. The Bible doesn’t photoshop its characters. We get to see the broken, messed-up parts of their lives. Why do you think that is?
