Former Christian

Is this you?

“I didn’t get what I was looking for in the Church. I wanted to experience God. I needed help in seeing how the message of Jesus was relevant to my life. I wanted to feel welcome in a warm and loving spiritual community. I was struggling with serious stresses in my life and needed help. But at the end of the day these longings and needs were left unmet...and I concluded that Jesus either wasn’t real or if He was real, His people were out of touch with the realities of life today......”

We’d love to invite you to St. Paul’s and ask you to give the Body of Christ another chance to bring spiritual gifts into your life.

 To the Former Christian

More than a few of us at St. Paul's can relate to this negative experience of church. Some of us had drifted away years ago from the church and didn't think we'd ever be back. An we were surprised to walk into this church - way out in the middle of the countryside - and hear ourselves say "Hey! This is the real thing!" We sensed that the people, from the pastors on down to the kids, have a real excitement for Christ and a desire to share the awesome love of Jesus with one another and with the world.

Prayer is the cornerstone of our spiritual life here at St. Paul's - the living current of our connection with God. Time spent in the Father's Presence is at the heart of what makes our commitment to Jesus 'the real thing'.

Prayer at St. Paul's is:

  • the fuel for our trust in the Lord,
  • our vehicle for staying on the path of righteousness,
  • the substance of our confidence that Jesus is the way in every step of our journey.
  • our heart-felt call, with bended knee and humble heart, in intercession for our families and friends and others we know who are suffering.
  • asking for and receiving our Father's blessing and healing on our own lives, on our church and on our community.

Our invitation is for you to consider setting aside your disappointments and disillusionments for a moment, and letting your yearning to be part of a dynamic Christian family rise up to the surface again. Does the idea of a huge extended family appeal to you? There’s an open family like that who's always got room for more, in the community of this beautiful church!

The people of St. Paul's want you to know that Jesus is very much alive, that we worship Him with rocking songs of joy, and that we care very much about your struggles and spiritual needs. We're very fortunate to be gifted with pastors whose preaching is inspired and enlightening, and we have many small groups to help draw you in closer to the heart of God and to your brothers and sisters in Christ.

So come! Come along with us on Sundays - and join in our weekly celebration of the love of Christ. Then stay and have some coffee and meet new friends, doing life, on the road with Jesus. We'd love to see you.

For all people, we believe it is important to fully understand what it means to be born anew and if that is fully understood, then it is vital to be a part of a smaller group where you can know and be known, such as one of our life groups.
