WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT ANYWAY.?"

Are you one of those lucky people who have always succeeded in everything you undertake, achieving more success, financial freedom, fame and power with every year that passes?

Are you at that point where you can say "Wow!! I have everything I always wanted - a beautiful home, an awesome car, a sleek boat, a lovely family, all the money I need and the admiration of everyone who knows me!"

That sounds really good....in fact, you have what many people dream of.

But maybe you have no idea that there is something marvelous yet to reach for...

 To the Person with the Fortune 500 Lifestyle

Sometimes people who become stars in some way - like famous actors, sports heroes, major CEO's, rock idols or politicians - arrive at a point where all of the wealth, the fame, and power suddenly seem empty.

The hoped-for happiness at the end of the ladder to the stars didn't materialize. All that success and admiration didn't buy healing for a hurting heart. Neither did years of therapy with the world-reknowned psychiatrist.

The void within starts to loom larger all the time, and often the only way to suppress the pain of an empty, hungry, hurting heart seems to be through alcohol or drugs. It might be sex, or food or work that seems to take your mind off of the inner aching...but it never quite does the job.

You've arrived at a spiritual turning point.

This is what Jesus says to you:
"I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry," (John 6:3)
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life." (Revelation 21:6)

Although it may seem that Jesus is speaking in symbols here, he is actually conveying something very literal and very real. What He is talking about is the life-giving power of His Love. This Love is not an abstraction, like it frequently is with human love. No other person's love can offer the kind of eternal salvation for the soul that the Love of Jesus offers.

If you allow yourself to become conscious of the great inner thirst for God at the core of your being, and if you then whole-heartedly ask Jesus to come into you, you will also become conscious of Jesus pouring what feels like the water of Life into your withering soul. He literally gives you more life - a greater life...a sense of wholeness, of completion.

Loving and knowing Jesus is the ultimate in being loved....the power of being cherished by Him and loving Him reverberates throughout your whole life... to everyone you meet.

There is a way in which you who have achieved all your dreams and become disillusioned by them are lucky. You have no more illusions about the power of earthly treasures to provide salvation for you. You can cut out distractions and keep your eye steadfastly on Jesus, the Morning Star of the Kingdom of Heaven, as he reorients your life for you... He comes to live in you, allowing you to have a clean heart and be able to forgive and to enjoy the rewards of a life of loving others. And you will know peace.

You will become rich in a way you never dreamed of. You can become the kind of shining star that only Spirit-filled people can be. Knowing the power of God to heal, save and deliver, you know that, in the name of Jesus, the power of God's Love can flow through you to all those you know and touch.

We invite you to St. Paul's, trusting that you will see this "other" truth. What we believe to be a more "real" than the stuff we can accumulate here on earth. It is important to fully understand what it means to be born anew. If that is fully understood and experienced, then it is vital to be a part of a smaller group where you can know and be known and gather for more in-depth spiritual growth, such as one of our life groups.
