Depressed and Dispirited

Well - you're not alone in feeling alone and depressed. Estimates are that approximately 50% of the population of North America has at one time or another been on anti-depressants.

Wow! This is a culture of depressed people!

Half of us are too depressed to really go out and connect with other people. Except if it's a situation where we can drink or use drugs with others. Huge numbers of us are habitual alcohol and drug users, whether recreational drugs or prescription drugs for mood-disorders.

So you're depressed and alone in a society where so many people are depressed and alone. Is there really healing for depression?

To the Depressed and Dispirited

People born in North America over the last few generations have experienced a great increase in social isolation. Almost 50% of marriages break down. Families move apart and end up scattered all over the world. Mothers work and leave their children to others to be taken care of. The sense of neighborhood, where everyone knew everyone, is becoming a thing of the past.

We are a civilsation of lonely people who are all too often unable to really connect with the hearts of others... even our own family members.

We are spiritual orphans.

There's something you have to know...to really believe and understand about life in order to find emotional healing and joy:

God is your Creator and Father, your Source and Center.
Jesus is God come to earth, in all His Love, Power and Glory.

Jesus is still very much here and present, today and always, ready to be with you and show you the way to the fullness of life.

He called Himself "The Way, The Truth and The Life".

He is The Way... because only He has come to this earth directly from the Father and risen back up to Heaven, directly to the Father, Only He knows the way to the heart of God. He IS the path of salvation, healing and deliverance.

He is The Truth... because He is God, the Source of all truth and eternal reality. There is no one else we can turn to who knows the truth of all things or the solutions to all problems. Jesus has told us how to live in the Truth, to become like Him.

He is the Life... because He is the Source of all breath, the miraculous power and life-energy of the Holy Spirit of God. By allowing His Spirit to fill us we become healed, delivered of the evils that we have been harbouring.

Betrothed to His Spirit, we have eternal life.

The apostle Paul said:
"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control" (Galatians 5:21-23)

There is A PROMISE here that if you will turn your life over to Jesus, living as He taught, abiding in Him, communing with Him and above all, having FAITH in Him, YOU WILL FIND JOY!

YOU WILL FIND LOVE.
YOU WILL FIND INNER PEACE.

And over time, you will become the kind of person who in turn can bring light, hope and joy to all the people that you touch.

If that is fully understood and experienced, then it is vital to be a part of a smaller group where you can know and be known and gather for more in-depth spiritual growth, such as one of our life groups.
